Timber Cottage in Glenorchy, New Zealand

Designed as a passive solar vacation cottage in Middle Earth, this is the first timber frame home with solid wood walls in New Zealand; built on site by Zirnhelt Timberframes from B.C.

Two double sliding doors to the spacious patio on the sunny side makes this cottage with open living space, 4 bed room and 2 baths, perfectly suited to outdoor living.

Roof and framed walls are insulated with local sheepswool insulation and the woodstove provides hot water for domestic use.
