the Ridge: level playing field!

Yesterday, the crew reached another major milestone: gravel was put down inside the lower foundation walls and compacted to create a level platform!
Now, work will be a lot easier 🙂

Reason for a small party before going home!

The compactor.

After the stem walls for the interior bearing walls are poured, rigid insulation will be laid over the gravel and 4″ of concrete will be poured for the basement slab.

Like I said: a nice level playing (ahem: work) field.

Foundation wall are being partly back-filled. The remaining back-fill will be completed once the main floor is on – it will help brace the walls.
