the Ridge: Walls & Beams

Things are really moving ahead now! The basement exterior walls are framed up and being sheathed.

And… the first load of glue-lam (deck) beams arrived yesterday!
Today, timber framer Christopher Petersen shaped the beams to be installed tomorrow.

The first beam installed 🙂

Tom Thompson, the painter arrived to apply a 2nd coat to the beams before installation.

Wall pockets are ready to receive the beams:

Clearly visible are the staggered 2×4 studs, which will receive 2 layers of 3.5″ Roxul batt isnulation (R-28).

What a view!
